All Washington Island residents and businesses that subscribe to the Washington Island Electric Cooperative’s fiber internet service will now have access to Washington Island Voice: an innovative voice technology made possible through a partnership between the cooperative and Quantum Technologies that provides clear telephone quality with minimal latency.
The cost is $39.99 monthly for the first line, with applicable telecom taxes assessed separately. The installation cost of $100 includes a battery backup and new cordless handset. Customers who prefer using existing analog phone equipment will receive an ATA adapter.
In addition to Washington Island Voice, Quantum Technologies is offering Washington Island fiber subscribers a special price of $25 per household for Quantum Care Basic, an application that allows the company to monitor the health of subscribers’ computers.
Quantum Technologies will open its new Washington Island location June 1 to provide Mac and PC computer repairs, cell phone repair, and a retail shop. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for June 1, 1 pm, when attendees can meet the staff and enjoy refreshments and snacks.
